Huey's Story
Meet Huey, who arrived at Kindred Hearts in November 2024 after being found wandering the streets, alone and unclaimed. His past remains a mystery, but it’s clear that life hasn’t always been kind to him. Understandably wary of humans, Huey is taking slow but steady steps toward learning to trust, surrounded by the patience and care of our team.
Upon arrival, he was treated for a minor skin infection, and our veterinarian noted signs of previous trauma. While he occasionally has a slight limp or subtle dragging of his rear left leg, thorough X-rays have confirmed that he is not in pain. This lasting effect from his past doesn’t slow him down—Huey moves comfortably and is embracing his new life at Kindred Hearts.
With time, love, and rehabilitation, we hope that Huey will one day step into the role of an ambassador, helping to share his story and inspire compassion for animals like him. Until then, he is safe, loved, and finally home.
