Laverne's Story
Laverne’s story began when she was taken in by a local tortoise wildlife facility after her previous owner was unable to provide proper care or the space she needed to thrive. With expert attention and rehabilitation, she regained her health and strength.
Once her recovery was complete, Laverne joined us here at Kindred Hearts, where she will live out her life surrounded by care, love, and respect. She has also taken on an important role as one of our educational ambassadors. Through her story, Laverne helps teach children and adults alike about tortoise welfare, responsible pet ownership, and the importance of protecting wildlife.
Her journey from neglect to nurture is a reminder that every animal deserves a second chance and at Kindred Hearts, she’ll always have the safe and happy home she deserves.
